Panchayat results triggerclashes, woman killed

BAHRAICH: A woman died while many people were injured in separate clashes here after the announcement of panchayat elections results.
Naushad Khan after winning the election of pradhan in Gendharia village under Bisheshwargang police station reached his village and had a heated exchange with his opponents. Both sides pelted stones at each other. Hamidul Nisha (50) died in the stone pelting.A clash was also reported between the winning and the defeated candidates for pradhan post in Sasna village under Huzoorpur police station. Four persons were injured in the clash. In a similar clash, six persons were injured.
District magistrate Ragziyan Samphle has imposed restrictions on taking out of processions, dinner parties, etc., by the winning candidates. Any panchayat representative found violating the order will be booked under the Gangster Act.
