One injured in crude bomb blast at PCB hostel

A 27-year-old plumber, identified as Rajendra, sustained injuries after a crude bomb exploded on the terrace of the hostel on the PCB campus under Colonelganj police circle here on Thursday.

ALLAHABAD: A 27-year-old plumber, identified as Rajendra, sustained injuries after a crude bomb exploded on the terrace of the hostel on the PCB campus under Colonelganj police circle here on Thursday.
The incident, according to report, took place while the plumber was repairing the water pipeline on the terrace of the hostel and came in contact with some cartons lying in garbage on the on the roof.
"While searching for a broken part of the pipeline, the plumber touched a carton containing a crude bomb which exploded and left him injured" said an official adding "three of his fingers were injured severely in the incident" he added. After the incident, the plumber was taken to a private hospital for treatment and his condition was stated to be stable.
Protest: A mob held a demonstration and blocked the road in Rajapur and adjoining areas under Cantt police circle on Thursday, demanding probe into the mysterious death of a 38-year-old unemployed youth identified as Sunil alias Sandeep.

While the mother of the deceased claimed that Sunil was killed by his wife and brother-in-law, the wife of the youth claimed he had hanged himself. Police said thorough investigations are underway into the incident. Police said wife of the victim, a working woman, told police that she had found her husband hanging from the ceiling and called up her brother to take him to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
But residents of the area claimed the youth had bitter relations with his wife and demanded a probe into the incident.
