Prayagraj: Four men died in a freak
road accident near Mevli turn on Bahua Road in Fatehpur on Friday night, police said.

They said the incident took place at around 10:30 pm when two bikes, carrying two persons each, collided head-on. Following the collision, two persons-- Saurabh Dwivedi (18) and Gajraj Pal (32) -- fell in the middle on the road and were mowed down by a speeding truck coming from behind. Two suffered critical injuries in the crash.
The truck driver escaped from the scene.
Lalauli police took the injured-- Akash (22) and Umesh Pal (25) -- to the community health centre in Ghazipur from where they were referred to Sadar hospital.
However, Akash succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Umesh died on the way.
