AHMEDABAD: The western part of the city received the maximum rainfall, with areas on the west bank of
Sabarmati river receiving 89 mm in the last two days. Ahmedabad received an average of 72 mm during the same period.
The AMC control room said that with westAhmedabad receiving maximum rainfall, most cave-ins were also reported from theregion. Cave-ins were reported near Gujarat College, Prernatirth Bungalows,Reliance Fresh in Satellite and outside Shahpur Darwaja onSaturday.
The rains resulted in complaints of water logging. At leasteight spots in various parts of the city, including Vejalpur, had incidents ofwater logging.
Control room officials also received complaints ofuprooted trees from Satellite, Madalpur and Gulbai Tekra amongothers.
Manorama Mohanty, director (forecasting) India Meteorologicaldepartment, said, "The state will receive rains on Sunday too, with moderate toheavy showers at many places. Fishermen have been warned not to venture out inthe sea and warnings have been issued along the coast."
According torevenue control room, barring Lakhpat taluka, the remaining 224 talukas inAhmedabad district received good rainfall with an average of 59 mm in the lasttwo days.
Barvala Taluka has received the maximum rainfall of 99 mm, followed bySanand Taluka with 94 mm.
The state, on Friday, received 25 mm ofrainfall, increasing the total rainfall of the season to 82 mm which was 9 % ofthe total seasonal rainfall. Revenue control room said that the maximum rainfallreceived during the same period was in Halol which received 185 mm ofrains.
