Valuables worth Rs 2.55L stolen from house in Jodhpur gaam

Ahmedabad: Burglars struck a house in Jodhpur gaam in the city and stole valuables worth Rs 2.55 lakh during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.The incident came to light after Vikram Thakor (51), a resident of Jodhpur gaam, lodged a complaint with the Anandanagar police on Thursday. According to the FIR, the theft occurred between 11pm on Tuesday and 6.30am the following morning when the family was asleep.Police said an unidentified person allegedly entered the house and targeted a wooden cupboard in the kitchen. The burglar decamped with cash and valuables, including Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, a mobile phone worth Rs 20,000, a gold ring valued at Rs 75,000, two gold pendants worth about Rs 10,000, and several important documents. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at Rs 2.55 lakh.Investigators noted that there were no immediate signs of forced entry, raising suspicion that the accused may have exploited an unlocked door or gained access without breaking in.A case of burglary has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
