Five days after birthday, Pramukh Nanda’s life cut short

Ahmedabad: Just five days ago, Pramukh Nanda, a well-known automobile dealer, celebrated his 48th birthday on June 7, surrounded by family and friends. On Thursday, he, along with his wife Neha and younger son Pravesh, lost their lives in the AI 171 crash in Ahmedabad. The family was en route to the UK to attend the graduation ceremony of their elder son, Pratham, who along with Pramukh's elderly parents, is now left grappling with unimaginable grief.Pratham, 22, is currently pursuing his studies in the UK. Friends close to the family revealed Pratham is in deep shock, having lost his immediate family. He suddenly finds himself responsible for his father's thriving automobile business empire — one with major dealerships for Mahindra and Tata across Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mehsana, and Gandhidham.The sudden demise of the members has sent shockwaves through the trade and their vast network of associates. Pramukh was part of the Cargo Group, with ties to Tata Motors, Mahindra, and Tata Commercial. "He was a pillar of knowledge and support within the automobile sector not just in Gujarat but across the country. Their business journey was marked by consistent growth and innovation," said Pranav Shah, chairman of Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (Fada), Gujarat.The loss of Pramukh Nanda marks the end of an era for one of Gujarat's most trusted automotive houses, said automobile dealers. "Not just the family, but the entire automotive industry in Gujarat is feeling the loss. Pramukh was a second-generation entrepreneur with operations spanning Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan. He came from a deeply respected business lineage," said Hitendra Nanavati, council member, Fada, Gujarat.
