Fresh protests broke out in Noida a day after large-scale violence, with workers regrouping in Phase-2 and nearby sectors, leading to renewed tension and police intervention.

Police carried out a flag march in Sector 121 and strengthened security across sensitive areas to maintain order and reassure residents amid ongoing wage-related protests.

An interim revision increased minimum wages by around 21% for workers in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad, aiming to ease tensions following widespread protests and violence.

Protesting workers demanded monthly wages between Rs 18,000 and Rs20,000, citing long working hours, high rent, rising costs and inadequate pay for survival.

Protesters allegedly pelted stones during clashes in Phase-2, leaving several police personnel injured. Security forces were quickly deployed to control the situation and prevent further escalation.

Police suspect protesters were organised through multiple WhatsApp groups created using QR codes, allegedly used to mobilise crowds and coordinate fresh gatherings across sectors.

Some groups circulated provocative messages encouraging escalation of protests. Digital forensic checks are underway to trace administrators and origin of networks.
