Ahmedabad: Parking row turns violent in Nikol, man injured
Ahmedabad: A dispute over parking a scooter outside a house in Nikol allegedly turned violent on Saturday night when three neighbours attacked a 40-year-old embroidery worker and his teenage nephew, leaving the man with a head injury that needed stitches.
According to a complaint filed with Nikol police, Jitendra Vadher, a resident of Diamond Park Society in Nikol, was at home on the night of May 9 when his 18-year-old nephew, Piyush Vadher, returned from tuition classes at around 8.30pm on his scooter.
As Piyush was parking the scooter outside their home, neighbour Kishor Chauhan allegedly confronted him and picked up a quarrel, claiming he was standing on the road, and the youth should have seen him. The argument soon escalated into a heated exchange.
Hearing the commotion, Jitendra rushed downstairs and attempted to pacify the matter. However, Kishor allegedly started verbally abusing both uncle and nephew. Moments later, Kishor’s son Gautam Chauhan and a relative Lavji Chauhan also reached the spot and allegedly joined in abusing the duo.
The FIR stated that when Jitendra objected to the abuses, Kishor and Gautam allegedly assaulted him and Piyush with fists and kicks. During the attack, Lavji, who is elderly and uses a walking stick for support, allegedly hit Jitendra on the left side of his head with a metal walking stick.
The complainant began bleeding heavily and raised an alarm, prompting local residents to intervene and stop the assault. Piyush then called the 108 ambulance service, and Jitendra was taken to Sharadaben Hospital in Saraspur, where doctors stitched his wound before discharging him.
Nikol police registered a case against the three accused and initiated further investigation.
