AHMEDABAD: A 47-year-old

Hansol

resident has been booked for breaking the VIP security cordon on Tuesday.

Shahibaug police registered a case against Ghanshyam Patel for obstructing a government servant from performing his duties when the prime ministers of India and

Mauritius

were in the city.

Police constable

Bhavyajitsinh Parbatsinh

filed a complaint, stating, “The traffic movement from Dafnala Circle to the airport had been closed due to VIP movement. Around 8.15pm, Ghanshyam Patel approached the airport from the wrong side at Ghevar Circle.”

The policemen allegedly stopped him, saying that he could not go further as the road was blocked for VIP movement. “Patel began shouting and forcibly to break through the security barrier and head to the airport,” the complainant said. The policemen present there detained Patel and took him to Shahibaug police station where a complaint under IPC Section 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) was registered against Patel.
