MUZAFFARNAGAR: A clash broke out between Samajwadi Party (SP) workers and Hindu activists during a candle march held near the party office in UP's Muzaffarnagar, police said on Friday.The march, led by district SP president Zia Choudhary, was held in the Civil Lines police station area to protest alleged attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. During the protest, a confrontation broke out between SP workers and Hindu activists, resulting in a short clash.According to police, a Hindu activist, Gaurav Chauhan, was taken into custody as a preventive measure. Following his arrest, a group of Hindu activists staged a protest outside the Civil Lines police station.Zia Choudhary alleged that Chauhan had attacked SP workers while they were holding a peaceful march. Police said the situation is now under control, with additional forces deployed and security tightened in sensitive areas as a precaution.
