Muslim cleric held for sodomising minor boy in madrassa

AGRA: A Muslim cleric was arrested for allegedly sodomising a minor madrassa student in Agra.The incident took place in Achnera-based mosque, where the cleric, hailing from Bihar, was teaching Urdu and religious text to a group of 20 minor boys.The matter came to light when the 11-year-old victim, a resident of Nagla Dhiru village of Fatehpur Sikri area, narrated his ordeal of sexual abuse to his parents after returning home.The accused, identified as Abdul Kalam (32), was arrested and booked under IPC section 377 (unnatural sex) and POCSO act.According to Achnera police, the accused cleric had been sexually abusing the child for last 10 days. “On four occasions the cleric sodomised the kid and forced himself on him. The victim has been sent for medical examination. Other students of the madrassa are been questioned about the behaviour of the cleric with them,” said Station house officer Gautam of Achnera.
