Himachal Pradesh rains wreak havoc: 300+ roads blocked, Mandi worst-hit

SHIMLA: Rain continues to batter Himachal Pradesh. Several villages lie devastated, apple orchards have been swept away and over 300 roads remain cut off across the state. Shimla district too faced the brunt as a flashflood struck Rampur area, but there were no casualties. As many as 171 of the 291 blocked roads are in Mandi district, which has been devastated by a series of flashfloods and landslides since July 1. Seventy of these roads are in Seraj.
