Firozabad govt schools get 750 smart classrooms, tech labs in infra push
Agra: Firozabad's primary education system has seen an upgrade with the rollout of smart classrooms, information and communication technology (ICT) labs and modern learning infrastructure across govt schools, bringing them closer to private-school standards.District officials said the initiative aims to improve learning outcomes and bridge the rural-urban digital divide. As part of the drive, 750 smart classrooms have been made operational in basic schools, enabling students to develop scientific and logical thinking through audio-visual learning. To strengthen digital literacy, 195 ICT labs have been set up, providing students early exposure to computers and technology. Officials said this has helped children connect with mainstream technological education from a young age.The district has also established 55 astronomy (space science) labs to foster scientific temper and curiosity. Students are learning about stars, planets, and space science through hands-on activities. In addition, three Kasturba Gandhi residential schools are being run to support girls' education.Students said the changes have made learning more engaging.
"Earlier, it was only books and blackboards. Now, videos and visuals make difficult topics easier to understand," said Anjali Singh, a Class 6 student. District magistrate Ramesh Ranjan said, "Infrastructure upgrades have been carried out extensively, with nearly 80% of primary schools now equipped with proper desks and seating. Better facilities have improved academic standards and boosted students' confidence."The DM added that the administration remains committed to ensuring that a lack of resources does not hinder any child's education and efforts will continue to provide equal opportunities for all.
