Work at Chennai Egmore station: Southern Railway to run more EMU shuttle services
CHENNAI: Southern Railway on Monday announced that EMU shuttle services would be operated between Chennai Egmore/St Thomas Mount and Guduvancheri/Chengalpet to reduce inconvenience to passengers caused by a line block at platforms 10 and 11 at Chennai Egmore railway station.Fast EMU trains will have additional stoppages at St Thomas Mount.

However, all non-peak hour AC EMU services between Chennai Beach and Tambaram are cancelled on weekdays. AC EMU services will also not operate on Sundays during this period.In addition, Gummidipundi–Tambaram EMU services will now start and end at Chengalpet on weekdays.Several EMU passenger specials in both directions will skip stops at Pallavaram, Kodambakkam, Nungambakkam and Chetpet due to operational reasons.Passengers are advised to check the modified suburban timetable before travel.
