AGRA: Four members of a family were hacked to death by unidentified assailants in early afternoon on Monday at their house in Mohalla Nagla Premi locality of Etah district headquarters.Ganga Singh, 75; his 70-year-old wife, Shyama Devi; 42-year-old daughter-in-law Ratna, and 23-year-old granddaughter Jyoti were in the house when the assailants barged in and attacked them with sharp weapons and a brick. Jyoti was about to get married in February this year.ADG (Agra zone) Anupam Kulshreshtha, who visited the crime spot, said, "The police received information from the neighbourhood around 3 pm. A dog squad and a forensic team also arrived. All pieces of circumstantial evidence available are being examined and recordings from nearby CCTV cameras are being scanned. The primary evidence collection work has been completed, and the suspects will be questioned. Police teams have been formed to probe the crime, and Aligarh range DIG Prabhkar Chaudhary will oversee the investigation.""The motive behind the murder is unclear. Family members said there was no enmity with anyone, and they had not received any threat.

She was taken to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.Police said the body of Ratna Devi was found on a bed on the second floor of the house, while Jyoti and Shyama were found on the floor. Ganga Singh's body was on the ground floor.Kamal said, "I had come home for lunch around 1 pm and went back to my shop and then to the market. At that time, everything seemed normal. I got a call from a relative about the incident."Additional SP Shweta Pandey said, "Teams from the dog squad, forensic unit and other police stations have been deployed to investigate the crime.
