NEW DELHI: At least five people died and four others were injured after their SUV crashed into a tree in Agra’s Chitrahata area on Thursday night.The victims were returning from Kaila Devi Temple, the injured were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The incident took place around 10 pm in the Chitrahata police station area when the vehicle lost control and rammed into a tree.DCP East Abhishek Agarwal said, "On March 19, around 10 pm, police received information that a vehicle had collided with a tree in the Chitrahata police station area. Police immediately reached the spot. In this incident, 5 people died, and 4 were injured, who have been sent to the hospital. Postmortem proceedings are underway. The driver had fallen asleep which caused this accident. Investigation is ongoing..."The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem.According to police, the driver had fallen asleep, which caused the accident.
