Mussoorie: A 44-year-old man was found dead on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road around 2 km from Kolhukhet. The deceased has been identified as Ashok, a resident of Behat, Saharanpur.
According to police, his family had filed a "missing person" complaint at Saharanpur on Wed and his location was traced near Kolhukhet.
Police conducted a search operation and on Wed night his bike was found parked along the roadside on the way to Mussoorie. However, the search operation had to be stopped due to night conditions.
Police added that the search operation resumed on Thursday and the man's body was found in a gorge about 300 m below, next to the road, and was recovered with SDRF's help.
The man's family said that he was an alcoholic and also used to take drugs and in the past had been admitted to a drug de-addiction centre, police said, adding that the body has been sent for postmortem in Dehradun.
