Agra: Two minors were injured in a firing incident during a wedding ceremony in Korna village under the Mursan police station area of Hathras district, police said on Friday. The incident took place around 11 pm on Wednesday during the "door ceremony" following the wedding of Gunjan, daughter of one Mahendra Singh. Police said a shot was suddenly fired amid a gathering of relatives and children from both the bride's and groom's sides.Karan (11), son of Harprasad from Girsoti village in Hathras, and Nitin (12), son of Omprakash, a resident of Mahavan village in Mathura, were hit by shrapnel in their legs.Both minor boys were rushed to Bagla district hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, Nitin was later referred to a Agra hospital, police said, adding that Karan's condition is stable.Following a written complaint by the bride's father, Mursan police registered a case against an unidentified person under BNS section 118-1 (voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons) and launched a probe."An investigation is underway, and video footage from the wedding is being examined to identify the person who fired the shot," said SHO Mursan Virendra Pratap Giri.(With inputs from Sumit Sharma)
