Unhappy forest minister warns Tripura CM to reallocate portfolio else to move Amit Shah
AGARTALA: The newly found ally of BJP led government in Tripura TIPRA Motha member in the cabinet on Tuesday issued an open threat to chief minister to move Delhi to get a preferred portfolio.
A fortnight of the announcement of Lok Sabha poll schedule, BJP struck a deal with TIPRA and sacrificed Tripura East seat to the elder sister of Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman from Chhattisgarh.
Two Motha MLAs Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma were inducted in the cabinet. While Animesh was given forest, science, technology and environment, and printing and stationary, Brishaketu was given minister of state before elections.
Soon after winning the elections, Pradyot urged his party men to get ready to fight for their core demand of greater autonomy and against CAA.
On Tuesday addressing a press conference here in the Secretariat, Animesh Debbarma expressed his disappointment over the department allocated to him by CM Dr Manik Saha.
“I would raise this matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah if the CM fails to address the issue,” Debbarma told reporters. He said that people with less experience in politics are getting good departments but with more than 22 years of experience he was given less important departments.
“I am not happy with science, technology and environment and printing & stationery departments. There is nothing to hide. A few days back, I met with CM and told him that I have been in politics for a long time and asked him to give me a good department so that I can do something beneficial for the people in the villages,” Debbarma underlined.
The forest department is okay, but what about other departments, he questioned adding that many people have received good departments after being in politics for just five years, but departments should be allocated properly.
