Teacher assaulted for ‘abusing’ students in Tripura
Agartala: A male teacher faced public assault over allegations of abusing female pupils at Krishnapur High School in Khowai district of West Tripura on Saturday.
The directorate of secondary education promptly requested reports from both the district education officer and the headmaster regarding the incident. The teacher received instructions to remain within the station until further notice.
During school hours, several teenage girls wielding broomsticks pursued the teacher across the campus, with outsiders subsequently joining the chase. Police took custody of the accused computer teacher. According to local residents, the teacher had allegedly abused three female pupils and made inappropriate remarks.
Parents rushed to the school premises upon learning about the incident from their children and attacked the teacher, identified as Bipul Ghosh.
He was forcibly taken out of the staff room and severely beaten. The mob placed a garland of shoes around his neck.
