Fuel prices were increased across major Indian cities on Monday, marking the fourth hike in less than 10 days as oil marketing companies continued revising rates amid rising global crude prices and a weakening rupee. Petrol became costlier by Rs 2.61 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.71 per litre, pushing retail fuel rates sharply higher and adding pressure on household and transportation expenses.The latest revision raised petrol prices in Delhi by Rs 2.61 per litre to Rs 102.12, while diesel prices climbed by Rs 2.71 to Rs 95.20 per litre from Rs 92.49, according to industry sources. Jaipur saw the steepest rise in petrol prices at Rs 3.51 per litre, taking rates to Rs 113.35 per litre.Diesel prices also continued their upward trend, with Hyderabad recording the highest rate among the listed cities at Rs 103.82 per litre after a Rs 2.88 increase. Thiruvananthapuram’s diesel price rose to Rs 104.41 per litre, while Jaipur registered a Rs 3.34 jump to Rs 98.39 per litre.
