BPCL to shut key Mumbai refinery unit in November for scheduled maintenance: Report
State-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will shut a 120,000-barrel-per-day crude unit and some secondary processing units at its Mumbai refinery in November for planned maintenance, news agency Reuters reported citing industry source on Monday.The maintenance shutdown will affect units at BPCL's 200,000-bpd refinery in Mumbai, one of the company's key refining facilities in western India.A BPCL spokesperson said the company had initially planned to undertake the maintenance turnaround in April.Earlier, an industry source had indicated that the planned shutdown, expected to last three to four weeks, would take place during September-October, as cited Reuters.Indian refiners have been delaying scheduled refinery maintenance programmes to ensure adequate fuel supplies and meet strong domestic demand, a government official had said previously.
