Shweta Tripathi reflected on her eight-year journey as Golu Gupta in
Mirzapur, calling the role deeply personal. She shared that the character’s evolution from a quiet student to the powerful “Golu Didi” shaped her journey, adding that the love from audiences is something she will always cherish.
Shweta says, “It’s difficult to explain what Golu means to me because she has been a part of my life for almost eight years. When I first started playing her, she was this reserved, intelligent girl who believed deeply in books and knowledge. Over time we saw her grow, change and become stronger because of everything life threw at her. As an actor, getting the chance to live with a character for so many years is very rare, and I feel extremely grateful for it.
Golu has given me so much, love from the audience, recognition, opportunities and most importantly memories that I will carry with me forever. I have grown with her in many ways. I feel like a part of me will always remain Golu. Whenever people call me Golu didi, I love to! And it reminds me how deeply characters and stories can connect us.”
