Chiraiya, a new Hindi web series that explores sensitive issues around marriage, consent and the silence that often surrounds them. The six-episode social drama aims to spark conversations about marital rights and gender justice.
Directed by Shashant Shah, the series follows Kamlesh, played by Divya Dutta, an ideal daughter-in-law in a close-knit family whose world begins to unravel when she discovers that her sister-in-law is facing sexual abuse within her marriage. As the truth surfaces, Kamlesh finds herself torn between protecting her family’s honour and confronting deeply rooted patriarchal beliefs. The cast also includes Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Shaw, Prasanna Bisht, Faisal Rashid, Tinnu Anand, Sarita Joshi and Anjum Saxena.
Speaking about her role, Divya said the series holds up a mirror to the silences many families live with. She described Kamlesh as a woman who is deeply rooted in family values yet finds herself confronting injustice, ultimately choosing dignity over fear. Through its layered storytelling,
