Arjun Bewakoof promises a twisty neo-noir ride with unpredictable climax
Director Smita Singh is gearing up for her upcoming film Arjun Bewakoof, a neo-noir dark comedy starring Sanjay Mishra, Rajesh Tailang and Dolly Singh. Written by Anand Raaj, the film marks her second collaboration with him after Andaman and promises a suspenseful narrative with an unpredictable climax.
Talking about her vision, Smita says the film is an attempt to carve a distinct space in the industry by blending originality with commercial appeal. She adds that the story has been receiving strong appreciation, with key members of the crew backing the project.
The filmmaker admits that shifting from a social drama like Andaman to a commercial thriller has been challenging but necessary. “Until we step into the commercial space, both in storytelling and scale, it’s difficult to create something truly different,” she explains.
She also shares her confidence in her lead actors, calling them her “lucky charms,” and hints at a layered narrative that will keep audiences thinking—drawing a comparison to Inception for its open-ended intrigue.
