MG M9 electric MPV gets massive price hike! New price and details
The MG M9 has received a significant price hike in India. Following the latest update by JSW MG Motor India, the luxury electric MPV is now priced at Rs. 75.90 lakh, ex-showroom. The revision comes as part of the brand’s April 2026 price update, and as a result, the model now gets significantly more expensive than its earlier sticker price of Rs 69.90 lakh, ex-showroom.
Positioned in the premium MPV space, the M9 continues to rival models like the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Vellfire. The Carnival, currently priced at Rs. 59.42 lakh, ex-showroom, offers a diesel powertrain, while the Vellfire sits much higher at Rs. 1.19 crore with a strong hybrid setup. In comparison, the M9 features a fully electric drivetrain.
In terms of design, the M9 measures over 5.2 metres in length and features a typical boxy MPV silhouette. It is available in three colour options: Pearl Lustre White, Metal Black and Concrete Grey. Key exterior highlights include LED headlamps, a connected LED tail light setup, a closed-off grille and 19-inch alloy wheels with chrome detailing.
Powering the MPV is a 90 kWh lithium NMC battery paired with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 245 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The company claims a driving range of up to 548 km on a full charge. The setup is front-wheel drive, and buyers get an 11 kW wall box charger with installation, along with a portable 3.3 kW charger.
Inside, the M9 offers twin ‘Presidential’ seats with 16-way adjustment, along with massage, heating and ventilation functions, and extendable ottomans. A digital armrest controls seat and entertainment settings, while dual rear screens, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof add to the experience. Besides these, it gets a 12.23-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-speaker JBL sound system, along with V2L and V2V capabilities.
The M9 is available in both 7- and 8-seater configurations. On the safety front, it comes equipped with seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking.
