Volkswagen India has launched the updated Volkswagen Taigun in the country, with prices starting at Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Along with a long list of updates, the company has also introduced a new ownership scheme that promises up to 75 per cent assured buyback value after three years.
The highlight here is the assured buyback programme, which offers a residual value of 75 per cent of the ex-showroom price for customers who keep the SUV for up to three years or 30,000 km. This offer is valid on bookings made till May 31, 2026.
New Volkswagen Taigun: What’s changed
On the outside, the Taigun gets a refreshed look. There is a new front grille with a connected LED DRL setup, along with illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear. The SUV also gets new alloy wheels, a full-width LED light bar at the rear, and welcome and goodbye lighting animations. Sequential turn indicators are also part of the update.
Inside the cabin, the changes are more noticeable. The dashboard now features a cleaner, two-tone layout with updated materials. Buyers can choose from multiple upholstery options in fabric and leatherette. The SUV also gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a voice assistant and 15 integrated apps.
A new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation has also been added.

Feature additions include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ventilated and powered front seats, and touch-based climate controls. As for safety, it boasts of a 5-star Global NCAP rating and over 40 safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold assist and front and rear parking sensors.
New Volkswagen Taigun: Engine specs
Under the hood, the Taigun continues with its turbo-petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 hp and 178 Nm, while the 1.5-litre TSI delivers 150 hp and 250 Nm. A key update is the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre engine, alongside the existing 6-speed manual. The 1.5-litre engine continues with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
