Mahindra XEV 9S e-SUV waiting period extends up to 9 months: Full list here

Mahindra and Mahindra launched the all-electric Mahindra XEV 9S electric SUV in the Indian market in November 2025 with prices starting from Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings commenced from January 14 2026 and the deliveries started from January 23, 2026. Like most Mahindra models, the XEV 9S is also facing a long waiting period. As per our dealer sources, the electric SUV currently has a maximum waiting period of up to nine months.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is offered with three battery options across four trims - Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above. Talking about the waiting period of each variants, it varies by variant, ranging from around 3–4 months for the Three B79 and Three Above B79 trims, increasing to 4–5 months for the Two Above B79 and Two Above B70 variants, stretching to 6–7 months for the One Above B79, and going up to as much as 8–9 months for the One Above B59 variant. The new Mahindra XEV 9S is offered with three battery pack options - a 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. All three variants share the same 380Nm torque output, but their power ratings differ based on the battery size. The 59kWh model develops 231hp, the new 70kWh option steps up to 245hp, and the range-topping 79kWh version delivers 286hp, making it the most potent of the lot. The motor sits at the back and drives only the rear wheels.

Mahindra offers two home-charging options - a 7.2kW AC unit and a faster 11.2kW charger which needs to be bought separately, They’re priced at Rs 50,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively. Using the 7.2kW setup, the largest battery takes about 11.7 hours for a full charge, while the 11.2kW unit cuts that down to roughly eight hours. The XEV 9S also supports 180kW DC fast charging, allowing the 79kWh pack to jump from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes.

Features-wise, the 9S gets triple 12.3-inch displays - a central touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster and a dedicated screen for the front passenger, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, multi colour ambient lighting, 6-way powered for both front seats, dual wireless charging pads, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, augmented reality head-up display, a large panoramic sunroof, in-car camera, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, front and rear seat ventilation, a 540-degree camera and more. Rear occupants are well catered to too, it gets a BYOD mount for tablets, along with two high-output 65W Type-C ports, even a separate wireless charging pad and outer seats get ventilation too. The only real omission in this otherwise feature-rich package is the absence of a powered tailgate.
