Free EV charging for VinFast buyers till 2029! How it benefits you
Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has sweetened its ownership proposition for Indian buyers by extending its free charging programme till March 31, 2029. The move comes as part of the brand’s broader push to encourage electric vehicle adoption in India and select ASEAN markets.
The company’s free fast-charging benefit, available through its V-Green network, was earlier planned to run till July 2028 in India. However, it has now been extended by several months. The offer is valid not just in India, but also in Indonesia and the Philippines.
For buyers, this essentially means a significant reduction in running costs. Charging is one of the biggest expenses in EV ownership, and with this initiative, customers can potentially save a substantial amount over the years, especially those with higher daily usage.
VinFast currently sells two electric SUVs in India: the VF 6 and VF 7. The brand launched both models in the country on September 6, 2025, marking its official entry into the Indian passenger vehicle market.
Looking ahead, VinFast is planning to further expand its portfolio with new products, including the smaller VF 3 and a seven-seat electric MPV. The company is also exploring the introduction of electric scooters.
To strengthen its long-term presence, VinFast has already inaugurated a Rs 15,000 crore manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Alongside this, its parent firm Vingroup is also running a limited-period ‘Trade Gas for Electric’ programme in India, offering an additional 3 percent discount to customers exchanging their petrol or diesel cars for a VinFast EV.
