A few years ago, factory-fitted CNG cars were generally offered with entry-level cars, or lower-end variants of compact cars at max. However, the soaring petrol and diesel prices have resulted in CNG cars gaining immense popularity recently, resulting in manufacturers introducing CNG option with slightly more premium cars as well.Purchasing a CNG car doesn't mean you have to compromise on features anymore. The CNG kit is offered with the Zeta variant of the car only, priced at Rs 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the feature front, the XL6 CNG gets automatic climate control, engine push start/stop, cruise control, a 7-inch infotainment system with Suzuki Connect, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, 2nd row roof mounted AC, captain seats with one-touch recline and slide, four airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESP with hill hold and more.Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNGThe Baleno CNG is the only second Maruti Suzuki S-CNG car to be offered through the company's premium Nexa dealerships.

The features and safety tech on offer with the Glanza CNG is similar to what is offered with the Baleno CNG. That said, the Toyota hatch is slightly expensive than the car it is based on, priced from Rs 8.43 lakh to Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Grand i10 Nios hatchback is currently offered with a CNG kit on three different variants - Magna, Sportz and Asta, priced at Rs 7.16 lakh, Rs 7.70 lakh and Rs 8.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

The top-end Grand i10 Nios CNG variant comes with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic climate control, a cooled glove box, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, rear parking camera, push button start/stop, front and rear USB charger, a 5.3-inch digital speedometer, steering mounted controls, and more.Tata Tiago NRG CNGThe Tata Tiago NRG CNG was launched in the Indian market last month at a base price of Rs 7.40 lakh that goes up to Rs 7.80 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). The top-end Tiago NRG XZ CNG gets rugged plastic body cladding, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start/stop, a height-adjustable driver seat, digital instrument cluster, 15-inch alloy wheels and a cooled glovebox.

The Tiago CNG and Tiago NRG CNG make use of the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, mated to a CNG kit of course. In CNG mode, the engine produces 73.4 PS and 95 Nm, while the figures rise to 86 PS and 113 Nm in petrol mode. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard with the Tata Tiago CNG range.
