Woman killed after police open fire at vehicle that jumped security barricade

A 24-year old woman, Reena, was killed on Sunday in Samrala, Punjab, when police opened fire at a vehicle which jumped a security barricade. Police in the state are on high alert after six inmates of Nabha jail - including dreaded Khalistan Liberation Force chief Harminder Mintoo - escaped earlier today.

Punjab police records have also revealed that Mintoo visited Europe in 2010 to develop contacts and left Pakistan in June 2013 for an extensive tour of Europe lasting 11 months.

He visited Italy, Belgium, Germany, France and other European countries before reaching South East Asia.
