HYDERABAD: The two-day live international workshop on Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgeries (MICS) was inaugurated at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad on Saturday.The annual workshop had 125 eminent cardiologists from all over India and abroad coming together to discuss the latest techniques involved in MICS. Two live cases of aortic valve replacements were performed using the minimal access approach on the first day of workshop, which was attended by Dr Musumeci Francesco, an internationally-renowned cardiac surgeon and professor of minimally invasive and robotic surgery from Rome, Italy."Yashoda Heart Institute has earned the reputation of being a leader in heart care performing approximately 10,000 procedures annually. The live workshops will not only highlight the advantages but will also talk about taking this procedure to its next logical level," said Dr G S Rao, managing director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals.
