Much of what will emerge is expected to deepen, rather than radically change, what is already known. Thousands of pages have been disclosed over the years through trials, civil litigation and congressional releases. And from those fragments, a familiar set of names has already taken shape. Presidents and princes. Billionaires and intellectuals. A social circle so eclectic it could double as a TED conference that went badly wrong.
Before the next tranche lands, here is a clear-eyed account of who has been named so far, where they appear, and why they are part of the Epstein record.

Why: Listed as a contact. No allegation of wrongdoing.
Alan DershowitzWho: Constitutional lawyer, former Harvard professor
Where: Civil court filings; witness testimony
Why: Accused by Virginia Giuffre of sexual abuse. Dershowitz denied the allegations, countersued for defamation, and later reached a settlement that included withdrawal of claims.

Why: Flew on Epstein’s private jet multiple times in the early 2000s. Clinton denies visiting Epstein’s island and says the trips were linked to foundation or humanitarian work.
Bill GatesWho: Microsoft co-founder
Where: Media investigations; confirmed meetings
Why: Met Epstein multiple times after his 2008 conviction. Gates has acknowledged the meetings and called the association a mistake.
Charles Althorp Who: Brother of Princess Diana
Where: Epstein contact book
Why: Listed as a contact. No allegation of wrongdoing.
David CopperfieldWho: Magician and entertainer
Where: Witness testimony
Why: Named in testimony as part of Epstein’s social circle. Denies wrongdoing and was never charged.

Why: Convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking and related offences. Epstein’s closest associate and recruiter.
