Trump aide says 'White House will smell like curry' if Kamala wins

WASHINGTON: If Kamala Harris becomes President, the White House will smell like curry and her speeches will be facilitated via a call centre, a prominent Trump associate has said in a rage-filed rant as the MAGA-sphere doubled down on racist tropes after Donald Trump's debacle at the Presidential debate on Tuesday.

The comment came from Laura Loomer, a far-right activist close to Trump, in response to a post by Kamala Harris in which she spoke of her Indian heritage. "American people will only be able to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call that nobody will understand," Loomer added in a social media post, with an implicit dig about accents.

Loomer has been approvingly introduced at rallies by Trump and she has been hanging out with the former president before and after the debate amid disquiet among MAGA stalwarts about her influence on him. She is considered so poisonous that her remark was condemned by Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG), a Republican extremist from Georgia who is herself considered toxic, and who called the comment "appalling and extremely racist.”

"MTG is the most miserable lying bitch in Congress and we need to inform more MAGA patriots of how treacherous this woman is...This is a woman who has no convictions. Like a hooker she sells herself to the highest bidder," Loomer exploded on X as a civil war broke out in the now openly racist MAGA "movement," the xenophobia validated by its leadership. Loomer, incidentally, ran for Congress in 2022 from a Florida district that has Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in it and lost.

Loomer later claimed that her comment about Harris was a joke. "Everyone just needs to chill out and laugh about the cooking comments and the Indian Call center jokes. Or are we about to deny the fact that every time we call customer service we get directed to a call center in India?" she tweeted.

But the racist dog whistles against Kamala Harris and immigrants in general has come from the very top, with Trump and his running mate JD Vance themselves validating wild rumors about illegal immigrants eating pets and violently invading homes of Americans, even though such reports have been debunked by local officials in cities where they are said to have occurred.

Trump and his associates have repeatedly demonized immigrant Venezuelans and now Haitians by extrapolating and exaggerating sketchy reports and rumors. On Wednesday, Trump aide Stephen Miller publicly lost his temper when Hispanic journalists asked him what is the evidence for Trump's crazy assertions that Venezuela -- and the rest of the world -- is sending its criminals and lunatics to the US and has brought down their crime rates while increasing crime rates in the US.

Aside from being nonsensical, the claim is blatantly false given that official US statistics show crime has actually fallen in the US.

The shocking validation by Trump and his running mate JD Vance of the "immigrants eating pets" rumor, while causing universal revulsion, was skewered by late-night comedians mocking the MAGA duo.

“Yeah, everyone thought Harris seemed really prepared (for the debate) while Trump was like, ‘My homework was eaten by a dog that was eaten by people in Ohio.’” quipped Jimmy Fallon on NBC. And from Stephen Colbert on NBC: “This pet-eating brain worm got into Trump’s skull through JD Vance, who’s been spreading a racist rumor that Haitian immigrants are abducting people’s pets and eating them in Ohio. This is a good time to remind you: please remember to spay or neuter your JD Vance. We don’t want more of that.”
