Candace Owens challenges Erika Kirk’s s**-trafficking work claims in viral “Bride of Charlie” clip
Candace Owens’ latest online series has ignited a fresh wave of debate across social media, with viewers dissecting past interviews and personal stories tied to Erika Kirk. In her YouTube series Bride of Charlie, Owens revisits Kirk’s earlier public statements and questions the narrative she has shared about her humanitarian work overseas.
The discussion gained traction after a viral post highlighted how some viewers believe the material released by Owens is producing the opposite effect of what was intended. Instead of damaging Kirk’s reputation, several observers argue that the resurfaced interviews portray her in a far more positive light. The online conversation continues to grow as audiences revisit the details of Kirk’s past claims and Owens’ interpretation of them.
In one segment of the series, Owens plays an earlier interview in which Kirk explains the motivation behind a project she says she launched to support grassroots organizations around the world. Before sharing the clip, Owens frames the discussion by questioning the accuracy of Kirk’s statements.
Candace Owens said, "It's a fact of Erica's life. And like I said, she lies all the time. So ahead of us jumping back into the timeline, I would like to remind you of the story she tells regarding why she was traveling internationally, specifically to China. I want you to listen to what she says about why she traveled to China. Take a listen."
The clip that follows features Kirk explaining the mission behind a project she describes as an effort to highlight trustworthy charities and volunteer networks.
Erika Kirk said, "I decided to create something called Everyday Heroes Like You, where we're able to originally, it was focused on bringing funds and awareness to various grassroots organizations that were in specific communities that would be able to have volunteers that are transparent with their funds, that are actually doing what they're saying they're doing instead of just having 70% of the funds go to admin and only 30% towards the cause.”
She added, “So really just focusing on making sure there was a home for transparent organizations that people could learn about, get involved with. But from there, it kind of grew into something more global. I was living in China and doing a lot of work with the victims from sex trafficking, and then began to phase that into working with the Marine Corps and the Army, and then was able to work with an orphanage in Romania."
Owens then challenges the explanation and offers her own interpretation of the timeline. Owens said, "Okay, so there's no mistaking what she says, and she repeats it over and over again that she lived in China and she was living in China to work with victims of sex trafficking. This is one of the early questions that I had for Erica.”
She added, “Who were you working with in China? And thanks to a clip that we're going to show you later of her auditioning for The Amazing Race, she actually narrows it down and says that she was in Chongqing. I think I'm saying that right. It might be Chongqing. Well, the truth is that that helped me realize why she was actually in China. Helping victims of sex trafficking know the truth is that Erica was just following her boyfriend."
The episode has fueled a broader online discussion. Supporters and critics alike continue to examine the claims, the context behind them, and what the resurfaced interviews really reveal about Kirk’s past. As the series unfolds, the conversation around Bride of Charlie shows no signs of slowing down.
