Thousands of supporters of outgoing US President Donald Trump lay siege to the US Capitol on January 6 as the Congress met to ratify the victory of Joe Biden. The unprecedented violence claimed at least 4 lives and left the biggest democracy scarred. Newspapers across the world expressed shock at the violent transition.
