Two men stabbed at Luna Springs music event in Birmingham, crowds told to leave venue
Two men were injured in a stabbing incident at a music event in Birmingham’s Digbeth area on Saturday evening, forcing a sudden evacuation of the venue. Police were called to Luna Springs on Lower Trinity Street shortly before 7pm following reports of violence during a day rave.
Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene as crowds were asked to leave the venue midway through the event.
According to West Midlands Police, both victims were taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities have confirmed that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, BBC reported.
Officers have maintained a presence in the area as investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.
The event, part of the “Cru2: The Birmingham Shutdown” rave, was underway at the time of the incident. Attendees reported confusion as announcements were made asking people to vacate the premises.
Messages displayed at the venue initially referred to an “incident” before directing guests to leave via the nearest exit. Organisers later cancelled the afterparty, citing unforeseen circumstances and assuring ticket holders of refunds or further communication.
Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made so far. Investigations are ongoing, with officers appealing for witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.
Authorities are working to establish how the violence unfolded inside the busy event space, which was hosting hundreds of revellers at the time.
Some attendees have since taken to social media and review platforms to describe overcrowding and security concerns at the event. While many initially praised the atmosphere, others claimed tensions inside the venue escalated as the night progressed.
Luna Springs, one of Birmingham’s largest event spaces, has not yet issued a detailed public statement but is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation. Event organisers have also expressed regret over the disruption and assured full follow-up with ticket holders.
