DHAKA: AKM Moinuddin, special correspondent of United News of Bangladesh (UNB), has been re-elected president of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) for 2026.
Abeda Sultana Mukta, diplomatic correspondent of Desh TV, and Emrul Kayesh, special correspondent of Bangla Vision, have been elected vice president and general secretary, respectively.

Chief election commissioner and former AP Bureau Chief Farid Hossain, along with election commissioner and executive editor of the Daily Times of Bangladesh Elias Khan, announced the election results after the votes were counted.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election were held on Wednesday at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Dhaka.
Morshed Hassib Hasan, special correspondent of Channel 24; Rubaet Hasan, senior correspondent of Deepto TV; and Nahid Hossain, special correspondent of Alap.news, have been elected joint secretary, treasurer, and office secretary respectively unopposed.
Bashir Ahmed, special correspondent of Daily Amar Desh; Pantho Rahaman, special correspondent of Channel I; Atiqur Rahman, diplomatic correspondent of Dainik Jababdihi; Khurram Zaman, special correspondent of Amader Natun Shomoy; and M. A. K. Zilani, diplomatic correspondent of Daily Shomoyer Alo, have been elected as members of the executive committee unopposed.
Earlier, DCAB President (2025) AKM Moinuddin presided over the AGM, where outgoing general secretary Md Arifuzzaman Mamun and treasurer Morshed Hassib Hasan presented their respective reports.
