ISLAMABAD: At least one person was killed and another injured in a bomb explosion targeting a police vehicle in restive Dera Ismail Khan town in northwest Pakistan on Wednesday.
The blast took place near a police mobile van parked in Imam Bafgah area of the town, TV channels reported.
One passerby was killed and another person injured in the explosion, which was triggered by remote-control, police said.
The injured has been taken to a hospital. There were no reports of injury to any policeman.
Dera Ismail Khan has a history of sectarian clashes. The district borders the restive tribal region of South Waziristan where security forces were carrying out an offensive against the local Taliban militants.
