Middle East crisis: Satellite images show extent of damage to Iranian missile complex in Isfahan
Satellite images have revealed extensive damage at several military and strategic locations in Iran’s Isfahan province following strikes by the United States and Israel.
Images released by AP show visible destruction at multiple locations, including buildings at the missile complex in Isfahan province as well as infrastructure at Isfahan International Airport.
One of the satellite images shows destroyed buildings and sections of the tarmac at Isfahan International Airport. Other images provide a wider overview of the airport complex and nearby areas in the central Iranian city.
Additional images show damage at a missile complex in the Isfahan region, including destroyed tunnel entrances believed to be part of underground facilities. Separate satellite views also show structural damage to buildings at a military garrison in the area following the airstrikes.
The images collectively indicate that multiple sites in and around Isfahan, a key industrial and military hub, were impacted in the strikes. Earlier, among the locations identified in the imagery have been the buildings linked to the Natanz nuclear facility, which is situated in Isfahan province and has long been associated with Iran’s nuclear programme.
The satellite photographs provide an overview of the extent of the damage across the affected sites, including airport infrastructure, military installations and suspected missile facilities.
The release of the images comes amid continuing tensions in the region following the reported US and Israeli strikes targeting Iranian military and strategic infrastructure.
