Dubai’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display is set to be one of the most spectacular globally, with the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai as the centerpiece. Fireworks will light up the skyline starting at midnight, with a staggering 48 fireworks displays across 40 approved locations. While the Burj Khalifa remains the "Main Event" with its record-breaking laser and pyrotechnic show titled Beyond Dreams, there are plenty of other world-class spots to ring in the New Year.

Getting into central Downtown Dubai requires a tactical plan as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) implements a massive, phased closure strategy. To keep the city moving, authorities will begin shutting down major road arteries as early as 4:00 PM on December 31..

• Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard: This will be the first to close, typically by 4:00 PM, once parking areas are full.
