NEW DELHI: In a shocking discovery, two dead baby boys were found in glass bottles in the living room of an empty apartment in Hong Kong.

The unsettling incident came to light when a cleaning person stumbled upon the gruesome scene. The police have detained a man and a woman, who are believed to be the parents of the infants.

Chief Inspector Au Yeung Tak of the New Territories North division informed the media that the bottles, which were approximately 30 centimeters tall, contained the bodies of the babies. Surprisingly, there were no apparent signs of injuries on the deceased infants.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the age of the babies and whether they were born dead. The suspected couple, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, who resided in the apartment, have been taken into custody on charges of illegally disposing of the bodies.

The landlord had sent the cleaning person to the apartment after the tenants vacated the premises. Reports suggest that the bodies were submerged in a liquid and stored in the bottles.
