From Song Joong Ki coming back with yet another powerful script in ‘Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son’ to Kim Woo Bin collaborating for the first time with girlfriend Shin Min Ah in ‘Our Blues’, to the most-awaited Korean adaptation of popular series ‘Money Heist’, here’s what the year has stored for the audience. 'Chaebol Family's Youngest Son' will see superstar Song Joong Ki as Yoon Hyun Woo, who was killed after being accused of stealing by the Sunyang Group family that he had remained loyal to for a long time. The narrative then follows the boy's rebirth, and ultimate revenge on the family. Based on a web novel of the same title, the drama will revolve around Chaebol family's secretary who is reincarnated as the family's youngest son. The Jung Dae Yoon’s directional will reportedly star Shin Hyun Been and Tiffany alongside Lee Sung Min who was earlier confirmed for the project.

‘Sad Tropics’ officially marks Kim Seon Ho’s entry into films after winning hearts on the small screen. The actor will be seen co-starring actress Go Ra for a narrative based on a man who comes from a family where the father is Korean while the mother belongs to Filipinos. It revolves around the lead who aspires to become a boxer and his dreams take him to South Korea where he searches for his father who had abandoned him long ago. In between his quest, he encounters various situations and meets different people that make and break him.‘Sad Tropics’ is helmed by Park Hoon. While the reading of the film has reportedly begun in December, the team is likely to kickstart shooting early in 2022.

A South Korean adaptation of the Spanish-language fantasy crime series ‘Money Heist’ is on its way for next year. Featuring popular actors like Lee Hyun Woo, Park Hae Soo who will play Berlin, Jeon Jong Seo as Tokyo, Lee Won Jong as Moscow, Kim Ji Hoon as Denver, Jang Yoon Joo as Nairobi, Kim Ji Hoon as Helsinki, Lee Kyu Ho as Oslo and Yoo Ji Tae as the Professor, it will be directed by Kim Hong-sun, who has helmed hit TV dramas like 'The Guest' and 'Voice'.

‘Our Blues’ with a promising star-studded cast including real-life couple Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin alongside actor Lee Byung Hun, Han Ji Min, Lee Jung Eun, Cha Seung Won and Uhm Jung Hwa. Touted to be an omnibus-styled drama, the story of ‘Our Blues’ will focus on the bitter-sweet lives of different characters living in Jeju Island of South Korea. Penned by Noh Hee Kyung of ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’, the series will be directed by Kim Kyu Tae who has ‘Scarlet Hearts’ under his credit.

Lee Jong Suk will join hands with YoonA for the upcoming ‘Big Mouth’. Helmed by ‘While You Were Sleeping’ director Oh Choong Hwan and penned by scriptwriter Ha Ram, Lee Jong Suk will essay the role of a lawyer, Park Chang Ho while YoonA has been confirmed for the role of the female lead as Go Mi Ho, the lawyer’s wife who is foul-mouthed. It will unfold the story of a middle-class lawyer who coincidentally takes charge of a murder case and as he starts investigating, bizarre things come in his way. It highlights how the lawyer is threatened for his life and realises that he must unleash his evil side in order to protect his family from the real culprits in a world full of conspiracies.
