Seo In-guk faces fear, panic attack on Death’s Game set due to Acrophobia

The star-studded cast of Death’s Game has captivated fans worldwide, making it a weekend binge for K-drama enthusiasts. However, lead actor Seo In-guk recently shared a harrowing experience during the shooting of the suspenseful thriller. In a guest appearance on Rain’s talk show, ‘Season B Season,’ Seo In-guk disclosed his struggle with acrophobia (fear of heights) while filming mid-air scenes.


Playing the role of Choi Yi-jae in the Ha Byung-hoon-directed drama, Seo In-guk’s character faces unexpected challenges after falling victim to a scam, ending up homeless and heartbroken. The plot takes a mysterious turn when death, portrayed by Park So-dam, presents him with a unique challenge—living 12 different lives, each concluding in death.

Seo In-guk, aware of his fear of heights, took on the challenge despite informing the production team. While shooting a nerve-wracking scene suspended mid-air from a crane, the actor experienced a panic attack. Describing the incident on the talk show, he told that he was hanging on a crane and went up really high. When they told me to hold on while they changed the camera settings, there was a duration when he stayed in the air. That was so painful, so he got a panic attack.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Seo In-guk’s determination prevailed, earning him newfound respect for his commitment to his craft. The Death’s Game cast, featuring stars like Park So-dam, Choi Si-won, and more, has contributed to the drama’s popularity. Part I is currently available on Amazon Prime Video, with Part II set for release on January 5, 2024.
