This year, unlike others, was quite different for the world of entertainment as it had come to a standstill, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for online streaming platforms as they got all the spotlight.

While the cinema halls were closed and with no films releasing, the audience turned to web shows for entertainment and they were not disappointed. With several platforms offering varied kinds of content and the year winding up, we decided to bring you a list of the finest Indian web shows which released this year. From 'Scam 1992' to 'Aashram'; here are some shows which managed to entertain the audience.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta's show 'Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story' emerged as a dark horse and left everyone astonished. Lead actor Pratik Gandhi singlehandedly pulled off a stunner by delivering a breathtaking performance as stockbroker Harshad Mehta. While fans and critics were all praise for it, the show manages to take us on an intriguing journey of Indian stock market's biggest financial scam.

The Prakash Jha directorial which features talented actors like Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumar, Tridha Choudhury and many others, turned out to be a winner. While the first season which released in August left the audience on the edge of their seats, the second season took them in the depts of the dark world of Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala aka Monty's Aashram. The show managed to hit the bull's eye and fans are eagerly waiting for the makers to come up with the third season soon.

Talented artists like Jaideep Ahlawat, Swastika Mukherjee, Abhishek Banerjee, Gul Panag and many others came together for the first time and managed to win over the audience with their sheer brilliant performances. Backed by actress Anushka Sharma, this crime thriller show revolves around a cop, who bags a huge case of an assassination attempt going wrong. The gripping narrative and skilful artistic work executed by the technical team helped the show make a mark for itself.

After an impressive first season which had released in 2018, fans were eagerly waiting to see Pankaj Tripathi reprise the popular character of Kaleen Bhaiyya once again. Apart from Tripathi, many talented actors like Ali Fazal, Rasika Dugal, Divyendu Sharma and others also returned and set the digital platform ablaze with their amazing performances. The second season picks up from where the first one ended and manages to take the audience back on the journey which had started two years back.

Popular actress Sushmita Sen made her debut on the digital platform with crime drama 'Aarya'. She essayed the titular role of Aarya Sareen, a housewife, who is forced into the narcotics trade. The 45-year-old actress managed to weave her magic once again and the show's immense success has led to a sequel which would go on floors soon.
