‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ cast forced to onboard film for pay bump

In a recent report published by Deadline, the main cast of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, along with actors Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer, all had to sign the film’s contract if they wanted to get a pay bump for the third and final season of the beloved OTT series.During the final stages of the negotiations happening for season 3, the cast was told that the only way they would get a raise in their overall per-episode fees was if they would have to onboard the film and sign a contract to work on it as well. The cast was initially being paid around USD 35,000 to USD 40,000 per episode when the first season was released all the way back in 2022.

Some of the cast members did not wish to do the film

While they were not specifically named, the official report also cited that, allegedly, some of the cast members from the show were not looking forward to being part of the film.
However, the only reason they signed the contract was because of the pay bump. Since its release, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ has become a cultural phenomenon and has become widely popular across the globe.
