Just a couple of days after the fabulous announcements of ‘Rick and Morty’ being an independent, animated feature film were suggested, the ninth season just dropped. With a weekly release on Sunday, the season brings the fortune of the show being renewed for multiple seasons and a passionate movie project.
‘Rick and Morty Season 9’: When and where to watch?
The sci-fi comedy series dropped the first episode of the ninth season on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, on Adult Swim. Suggesting that all episodes are certified bangers, the official synopsis reads, “No AI slop! Just Grade A organic slop, made by real humans with real human traits like back hair and cysts. “Please watch, or we’ll have neglected our families for nothing,” the statement continued.
New episodes will be released every week on Sunday, until the 10 chapters finally end on July 26, 2026. Moreover, there are many episodes on the way, as the show has been renewed till at least Season 12. In India, the episodes can be binge-watched on Netflix, a couple of weeks after the official release on a later date. HBO Max will be streaming the show in the UK, along with Hulu in the USA, around June 15.
About the ‘Rick and Morty’ film
Jason Hair, the long-time director of the show, is said to be in talks with Warner Bros. for a feature film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The release date has not been confirmed on the calendar officially, but the script is in development and has been kept under wraps.
