What is a K-Drama without a dose of romance so heady that it can make anyone’s heart flutter! While the onscreen couples never fail to make our hearts skip a beat with their strong chemistry, some of them gave us a reason to ship them in real life too. In case if you missed it, here’s a lowdown on some of our favourite reel couples who actually hit it off in reality too.

The highly publicised Song-Song couple met while working for ‘Descendants Of The Sun’ in 2016. During the shoot, rumours of them dating started doing the rounds after both were spotted spending time together in New York. The rumours continued even after they finished wrapping up the shoot. Later they confirmed their relationship in a joint statement announcing their marriage on October 31, 2017. However, the fairytale love story came to an end when Song Joong Ki filed for a divorce in 2019. “Rather than denouncing one another and arguing over who is to blame, I hope that the divorce process can be wrapped up amicably,” he said in an official statement. Furthermore, it became one of the most expensive splits in Asia.

The famous ‘Crash Landing on You’ pair Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin were dating each other as revealed during the early months of 2021. Soon after, their agencies confirmed the reports and said that the actors had realised their “positive feeling” towards each other after filming CLOY.

Superstar Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young united for the first time on screen for ‘I Am Sam’, however, sparks flew instantly when they reunited for ‘City Hunter’. The MinMin couple’s agencies admitted their dating reports in August 2011, confirming that they had been having a secret relationship for atleast a month before making it official. Unfortunately, it was short-lived as both parted ways after a few months. “It’s been a while since they saw each other. It was really embarrassing for her to just go and reveal their breakup, and she didn’t want to put her agency in a sticky situation. So, she held the news a little longer,” said Park Min Young’s agency in their official statement.

After pictures of actor Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung went viral on the internet in 2016, it only took little time for fans to connect the dots and conclude that the ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo’ stars were struck by cupid. Later their agency YG Entertainment said, “After checking with Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk, they confirmed that after being close friends since their modeling days, the pair recently developed romantic feelings for one another and are dating well now.” Sadly only after three months, they called it off citing that they “grew apart due to busy schedules and have decided to maintain a supportive senior-junior relationship.”

'Boys Over Flowers’ fame Koo Hye Sun started dating his ‘Blood’ co-star Ahn Jae Hyun and confirmed their relationship status a year after their drama had aired. Over the next two months, the couple tied the knot and marked it with an intimate photoshoot on the Jeju island. However, they soon made headlines with reports of a divorce. Koo Hye Sun fueled separation speculations further by deleting the couple’s pictures from his Instagram handles and shared screenshots of their private text messages online. They were finally divorced in July 2020.

Young actors Kim Bum and Moon Geun Young fell in love while working for ‘Goddess Of Fire’. However, they only made it public a month after the finale of the series aired. From vacationing together with friends in Europe to being papped together, the two looked inseparable until they ended their seven-month relationship “on good terms”. Their agencies asserted that both “will continue to support one another as colleagues”.
