Emmys 2025: Katherine LaNasa wins big for ‘The Pitt’; shares emotional thanks

The ongoing 77th Primetime Emmy Awards has turned out to be a special night for actress Katherine LaNasa. 'The Pitt' star took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.According to PEOPLE, LaNasa, who looked emotional on stage, thanked the Academy while holding the golden statuette. She shared how meaningful the honour was for her."Oh my goodness I am so proud and honored to receive this award from the Academy," she said. "My whole career I wanted to work for John Well and he elevates everything."The actress went on to thank the nurses who inspired her while working on the series, as well as her costars, including Noah Wylie. She saved her most heartfelt words for her family."Lastly my children for making me real and my beautiful husband Grant Show for helping me always with everything," LaNasa said to a loud cheer from the audience.LaNasa's win came in a tough category. She was nominated alongside Patricia Arquette (Severance), Carrie Coon (The White Lotus), Julianne Nicholson (Paradise), Parker Posey (The White Lotus), Natasha Rothwell (The White Lotus) and Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus).This year's Emmy race has been closely watched, with Severance (Apple TV+) and The Pitt (HBO Max) competing for Best Drama. Meanwhile, Netflix's gripping Adolescence has become the frontrunner in the limited series category, though HBO Max's The Penguin could pull off an upset.
