Denise Richards keeps her cool under fire after daughter's car gets stolen prior to runway TV shoot
Even Hollywood families are not exempt from real issues — and Denise Richards is demonstrating that being a mother never takes a backseat, even while the cameras are rolling.
During the explosive April 8 season finale of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, the 54-year-old actress was presented with a huge curveball on what was to be a glamorous day. Richards and her daughters Eloise, Lola (19), and Sami Sheen (21) were to pose for a high-profile photo shoot for Runway TV. But hours before the photo shoot, the turmoil set in.
“Sami’s car just got f—— stolen,” Denise told her social media manager Justen in shock. The news came via a distressed call from Sami herself, who admitted she didn’t know what to do. While most people might panic, Denise remained surprisingly composed — stepping into full-on mom mode. Her first advice? Call the police.
Sami, flabbergasted by what was happening, replied with, "I'm just gonna stay home." But Denise wasn't having it.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum issued her daughter a kind but stern dose of reality: "It is what it is. It's not going to bring your car back," she told her. "You just need to call the police. When you have to do something, you have to show up."
In spite of the tension, Denise confessed in a confessional that her greater concern was the ongoing tension between her daughters, Lola and Sami. "I have a lot of anxiety," she said. "I am hoping the girls will keep the peace because it is a professional situation."
Once again, Denise met the situation with poise and tenacity — showing everyone that behind the glamour and sparkle, she's a mom first, a star second.
Whether the girls managed to lay their differences to rest remains to be seen, but this one thing's for sure: the finale packed in the unflinching, real-life drama that viewers have come to devour, a reminder that even celebrities face very real challenges.
